DATA DELETION POLICY

LAST UPDATED: APRIL 2026

SECTION 1 - OVERVIEW

1.1 Commitment: At Nelko, we respect your privacy and provide you with the right to control your personal data. Pursuant to global data protection regulations, including the GDPR, CCPA, and the EU Data Act (Regulation (EU) 2023/2854), this policy outlines how we handle and erase your information.

1.2 Scope: This policy applies to Connected Products (Nelko printers) and Related Services (Nelko App, PC drivers, and cloud printing platforms).

1.3 Children's Data: Nelko does not knowingly collect data from minors. If such data is found to have been collected inadvertently, the deletion process will be prioritized and executed immediately upon discovery.

SECTION 2 - DATA CATEGORIES & RETENTION

2.1 Connected Product Data:

2.1.1 Data Types: Equipment event tracking data (e.g., pairing status, battery state, error logs, print counts).

2.1.2 Location: Hybrid storage (on-device and Nelko Cloud).

2.2 User Account Data:

2.2.1 Data Types: Registered email address, profile details, and cloud-stored print templates.

2.2.2 Retention: Cloud data is retained for the duration of the active account. Upon a verified erasure request, data is deleted on a monthly processing cycle.

SECTION 3 - HOW TO EXERCISE ERASURE RIGHTS

3.1 Local Erasure (On-Device): To clear data stored locally on your printer or mobile app, please perform a factory reset or clear the app cache within the settings menu.

3.2 Cloud Erasure (Account): To delete data from our servers, please submit a formal request via the following channel:

Email: support@nelko.net (Subject: Data Deletion Request)

3.3 Verification Requirements: To protect your security and prevent unauthorized access, we must verify your identity before processing your request.

3.3.1 Primary Verification (Email): For account-level deletion or access requests, verification will primarily be conducted via a request sent from your registered email address.

3.3.2 Secondary Verification (Product Details): Product identification details (such as SN code, MAC address, or Order ID) may only be requested as a secondary measure if the registered email is inaccessible or if further security verification is required to ensure data safety.

SECTION 4 - PROCESSING TIMELINE

4.1 Acknowledgement: We will acknowledge receipt of your request within 10 business days.

4.2 Completion: We aim to complete the deletion process within 30 to 45 days. Complex cases may require an extension, and you will be notified accordingly.

SECTION 5 - LEGAL EXCEPTIONS

5.1 Statutory Retention: Notwithstanding a deletion request, Nelko is legally required to retain specific transaction records and tax invoices for three (3) years to comply with financial auditing and anti-fraud laws.

5.2 Operational Overrides: Deletion will be delayed if there is an unfulfilled order or if the device is within its active warranty period, to safeguard your consumer rights.

SECTION 6 - CONSEQUENCES OF DELETION

6.1 Irreversibility: Once completed, the process is permanent. You will lose access to all cloud-stored templates, purchase history, and membership rewards.

6.2 Warranty Limitations: Deletion may hinder our ability to verify warranty eligibility quickly. We recommend keeping offline copies of your original invoices.

SECTION 7 - THIRD-PARTY SYNCHRONIZATION

7.1 Nelko works with trusted partners (such as Amazon and Shopee for e-commerce). We will communicate your deletion request to these third-party processors to ensure your data is removed across our entire ecosystem.
